Mines hack and scanner: what is real
Why nothing can show you where the mines are, what a hack file can do to your phone, and a tap test you can run yourself.
Searching for a Mines hack usually ends at a file, a channel or a paid group. None of them can read a layout the game has not shown. What they do have is a plain fact on their side: a blind first tap is safe 88.0% of the time on this grid, so screenshots of safe picks prove nothing.
What a hack file can reach is your own phone: messages, contacts and payment apps. The grid it claims to read is not there to be read. If you installed one, remove it and change your passwords.
Change the tiles, the mines, the picks or the edge above and every number updates. Use the figures your own app states.
Common questions
Can a scanner app see where the mines are?
No. To show safe tiles it would have to know which layout the game picked, and in a game that draws its layout at random each round, no earlier round says which comes next. On a 25-tile grid with 3 mines there are 2,300 equally likely layouts.
How often is a blind first tap safe in Mines?
On a grid of 25 tiles with 3 mines, 88.0% of the time. With 5 mines it is 80.0% and with 10 mines 60.0%. That is why a run of safe-looking screenshots proves nothing: safe picks are common even when you know nothing.
What happens if I install a Mines hack file?
At best it does nothing. At worst it asks to read messages, contacts or notifications, which is how one-time codes and bank alerts get taken. If you installed one, uninstall it, change your passwords and call your bank if you shared any payment detail.
How likely is each safe pick in Mines?
It falls with every pick. On a grid of 25 tiles with 3 mines the first tile is safe 88.0% of the time, two in a row 77.0%, five in a row 49.6% and ten in a row 19.8%. The calculator multiplies the chance of each pick to give these figures for any grid.
What does the chance of finishing a Mines session ahead mean?
It is the exact chance that a session of the chosen length returns more than was staked. It is higher over a few rounds and falls steadily as the number of rounds grows, because the average loss builds with every round.
